Hey everybody, this is Prentis and welcome back to Becoming People. For those who have not been on this podcast journey with us, we started this podcast over the first iteration in 2020 called Finding Our Way. And we started that podcast because we wanted to accompany people through a really isolating and destabilizing time and convene conversations with incredible writers, thinkers, organizers that were dreaming up what the world could be, kind of looking around the corner of this world and imagining the way we could be with each other, imagining the way society could be.

And we morphed this podcast into Becoming the People a few years back because we wanted to hold central this question of how do we become the people that can really show up for this time? That's really the key question. And I don't have the answer. It's an answer that we are, through our conversations, through our practice together, we're trying to figure out.

But I don't think one person has those answers. So we're in conversation and community with each other to figure out how do we actually do what we need to do? How do we grow up? How do we make connections?

This is still a time of not only isolation and destabilization. It's a time of polarization. It's a time of enemy-making and a time of destruction. It's a time of tearing people apart and tearing people away from each other in their homes.

And at the same time, a lot of us have forgotten how to feel, how to really feel, how to be present, how to reach for each other. These are big questions of this moment. And I'm often asking this question of, are we mature enough? Do we have the maturity for this moment?

And I'm not sure that we do. So in this podcast, we're going to be asking those questions. What's the work that I need to do inside of myself? What's the work that I need to do relationally?

What's the work that I can create? What do I build and create in the world, this next world that is hopefully emerging? That's the core of what we're doing here, Becoming the People. And we're excited to share this next season with you.

We really did some like, almost soul searching, honestly, about if we were going to continue the podcast or how we were going to do it. And we really came back and we're like, okay, we want to do this podcast. We want to do it even more than we've done it before. We want to be in more conversation with our community.

We want to have more episodes. We just want more because we know that We need it. I need it. Our team needs it.

A lot of us need to be connecting these dots and learning to embody what we haven't yet embodied. So we're really taking this on and we hope that you join us on this journey of becoming the people. We are a scrappy podcast. You know, I think we have like five seasons under our belt at this point.
